While Italy was first solo trip outside France, Canada was my first solo trip overseas. I had been emboldened by a solo trip in Europe from London, and my brother was studying in Quebec for 4 months. That was the push I needed to travel further. I flew from London to Montreal, and then took the bus to Quebec. I booked a bed in a hostel in the city center, to fully enjoy my stay. I was surprised at how easy it was to travel to a destination that had seemed so far and unreachable to me. That was the first of many trips.
I spent some time in Quebec, then went back to Montreal, then Toronto (best friend’s HQ), and since I was there, I spent some days in New York and visited a friend in Washington DC.
During my trip around the world in 2018, I went back to Canada, flying from Mexico. I went back to Toronto, then headed to Ottawa and Kingston, and finally went to Montreal. I have only been in Canada during Autumn, maybe next time could be during Summer. Oh yes, because I’m definitely going back!
