In France, my parents live near the forest. As a child, I sometimes spotted red squirrels in the trees. I don’t see them anymore, but maybe I also spend less time looking for them. During my trips, I saw grey and black squirrel, but never a white squirrel.
Squirrels in London
Then, I lived in London for three years, and grey squirrels became the center of my attention in parks. They are everywhere, very cute, and sometimes not shy at all. We were going to St James Park to try to feed them. I remember going with my brother when he came to visit, but he was hungry and he ate the apple that was meant for the squirrels before we arrived. Haha!
Squirrels In Canada
During my first trip to Canada, I discovered the black squirrels. I don’t know if that was the novelty, but I found them very fancy and took quite a lot of pictures in Quebec and Montreal.
Spotting A White Squirrel In Mont Royal
Last year (2018), during my trip around the world, I stopped in Montreal for two nights. Originally, it was to be able to fly directly to Tokyo, but I then decided to add one more night to enjoy some poutine and a walk in the Parc Mont Royal, that I had really liked the first time.
As I was going down the hill after seeing the Cross, I spotted two squirrels chasing each other on a tree. The thing was that one of them was white! Very excited (yes, I know, I don’t need much), I started taking pictures from far away using my wonderful zoom. I then proceeded to walk closer and closer. I managed to approach the white squirrel and looked at it for a little while. It seemed a bit puzzled by my curiosity, between scared and interested. When it became obvious that I didn’t have any food, it ran away, and I continued my walk.
