Last week, I spent a few days in London. My friend is incredibly knowledgeable about what to do in London, and when I told her I was looking for a place to do shopping and walk in a park, she suggested Kingston Upon Thames that is close to Hampton Court Park. And it was the perfect idea!
A Morning At The Mall
I spent the morning in the shops of Kingston, particularly in the huge shopping mall called Bentall Centre. I couldn’t find anything to buy, but that’s mostly because I’m fussy and because it had to be light enough to be carried in my hand luggage.
Hampton Court Park
After lunch, I crossed the bridge to go to Hampton Court Park. It’s a really big park, with a golf course and a palace with gardens. I was delighted to see that there are wild deers in the park! It’s not always easy to approach them, but I got some nice photos.

A Flower Show
There was a flower show, and I went. But I felt like it was not worth it, as it is 26 pounds just for the afternoon, and it’s not really a flower exhibition, but more people selling flowers, plants, food and drinks. I hate that concept of buying an expensive entrance to buy expensive stuff. I thought that I had to enter the show to access the palace, but no.
Deers Everywhere
After visiting the palace gardens, I walked a bit further, to Bushy Park, and saw different deers, massive ones, eating leaves. It was really nice to be so close to them!
To sum it up, I recommend visiting Hampton Court Park and Bushy Park, and the gardens of the palace. I can’t tell you about the palace and the maze, because I didn’t go. And I don’t recommend the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show (if you go at that time), keep your money for the palace entrance or the maze in the gardens.
